Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis
Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis qualification is a four-hour course, providing learners with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to deal with a casualty suffering from anaphylactic shock and requires emergency first aid and medication from an autoinjector.

Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis award has been created with support from the Anaphylaxis Campaign, who is the only UK wide charity solely focused on supporting people at risk of severe allergic reactions. Anaphylaxis Campaign Charity campaign and fundraise to create a safer environment for all people at risk of severe allergies, by working with and educating the food industry, schools, healthcare professionals and other key audiences.
Is this course suitable for you?
The Anaphylaxis Management training is recommended for everyone over 16 years old, especially the ones who have a specific responsibility at work, or in a voluntary capacity to provide emergency first aid. No prior knowledge is required.
Anaphylaxis Qualification
The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for two years. To get qualified in this course, candidates must be 16 years of age at the date of assessment, show 100% attendance and complete all assessments.
Requalification for AED
Candidates should retake this qualification before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
To remain qualified, you will need to complete the full course and assessment again before your certificate expire. Requalification will be the same as the initial course of 4 hours.
Delivery Method
To ensure the best support is provided to candidates, the maximum number attending a course is limited to 12.
Course Duration
The total qualification time for Anaphylaxis qualification is 4 hours, excluding breaks or organisational arrangements.
Assessment
Assessment for the Anaphylaxis course will include a mixture of practical and theory-based evaluations.
