The Community Outreach Programme consists of four activity-based workshops that aim to teach essential emergency skills, and increase knowledge and awareness of CPR skills in the community through training in a familiar and comfortable environment. The workshops also provide fundamental water safety education.

Save a Life Workshops

Save a Baby’s Life

“Save a Baby’s Life” workshop aims to teach essential emergency skills to anyone who cares for a baby, such as parents, grandparents, siblings.

In this two-hour workshop, you will learn:

  • Infant Life Support (CPR)
  • Infant Choking (diagnosis and treatment)
  • Infant Drowning (prevention, diagnosis and treatment)

Save a Child’s Life

“Save a Child’s Life” workshop is suitable for all members of the community, especially those with young children. The workshops teach participants what to do in an emergency and equip them with basic first aid skills.

In this two-hour workshop, you will learn:

  • Life Support for Children (CPR)
  • Choking for Children (diagnosis and treatment)
  • Drowning in Children (prevention, diagnosis and treatment)

Save an Adult’s Life

“Save an Adult’s Life” workshop is suitable for all members of the community. The workshops teach participants what to do in an emergency and equip them with the skills to help adults who have stopped breathing, are choking or have suffered from a heart attack.

In this two-hour workshop, you will learn:

  • Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Choking (diagnosis and treatment)
  • Drowning (prevention, diagnosis and treatment)

Save Life with an AED

AEDs are increasing in number with several available in communities for public use. “Save a Life with an AED” workshops will give participants the confidence to use this lifesaving equipment in the event of an emergency. In this two-hour workshop, you will learn how to use an AED in case of an emergency.

 

Delivery Method

The workshops are delivered using videos, discussions, practical activities and Q&A sessions.

To ensure the best support is provided to participants, the maximum number attending a course is limited to 12.

Course Duration

The total qualification time for each workshop is 2 hours.
