The Emergency First Aid for Schools training covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills related to children, equipping the first-aider to administer first aid to children and adults.
Is this course suitable for you?
Emergency First Aid for Schools training is recommended for everyone. Especially anyone who comes into contact with or works with infants and children, parents and families with young children. No prior first aid knowledge is required.
Emergency First Aid for Schools course is for learners aged 16+ who have a specific responsibility at work or in a voluntary capacity to provide paediatric first aid.
Emergency Paediatric First Aid for Schools Qualification
The Emergency First Aid for Schools qualification includes HSE-approved EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work qualification) and is valid for three years. Candidates should requalify before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified. Although not compulsory, it is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
Requalification for EPFA
To requalify, learners must be fully assessed against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria which will be the same as the initial course of 7 hours.
Delivery Method
To ensure the best support is provided to candidates, the maximum number attending a course is limited to 12.
Course Duration
The total qualification time for Emergency First Aid for Schools course is 7 hours. This is made up of 6 guided learning hours (excluding breaks) and 1 hour for self-study.
Assessment
Assessment for the Emergency First Aid for Schools course will include a mixture of practical and theory-based evaluations.
